In this tutorial, I share my friend Tylena’s regimen after her big chop last fall, review some new products, clip her ends, show how I test products to see if they will “play” well together, and share tips for maintaining after the big chop. Basically, a whole lot happens in this one!
Featured products:
Hydratherma Naturals Moisture Boosting Shampoo has essential oils, fatty acids and natural extracts that return hair to its optimal moisture level. It also includes high quality proteins that help prevent breakage and make hair stronger. What I loved about this shampoo was how little of it was needed; it’s concentrated, meaning it’s not watered down. And, the smell and texture while shampooing was amazing!
Hydratherma Naturals Moisture Boosting Deep Conditioning Treatment works to restore elasticity with a blend of natural ingredients and oils. The scent of caramel mixed with orange citrus give this a sweet, clean smell. I loved how much slip I could feel as it glided on easily and seemed to immediately penetrate the hair.
Other products and tools:
- Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner
- ApHogee Curlific Moisture Rich Leave-In
- Mixed Chicks Hair Silk
- Ion Anti Frizz Ionic Blow Dryer
Total Time:
Total time to condition, trim and dry was about an hour and fifteen minutes.
Keep and Care:
To preserve your hair, you can sleep in a satin bonnet and re-fluff curls in the morning. If needed, mix water and a little oil in a spray bottle, mist the flattened sections, and reset the coils.
Hi, is black henna application considered dyeing? I have a really tiny 4c TWA. Please advise on styling and products.
