My blog turned one year old on September 11, 2014! (YAY!) I knew I was going to Atlanta for The Curls Course with curlBOX, but I also wanted to mix and mingle with my Atlanta curlfriends and meet some of my fellow, favorite bloggers! So, I contacted Kenya, “Halfie Truths,” and she so graciously agreed to host her signature event, Curls & Cocktails on Saturday, September 13.
In addition to myself, curly girl bloggers Charmaine, “Charmsie” and Kelsey, “Just Kelsey Janae” co-hosted the event. We spent a few hours at the super chic loft, Cru Urban Lounge, where naturals from Atlanta and surrounding areas talked, laughed and of course, posed for lots of pictures!
While having fun in fellowship, we also wanted to send a special get well message to fellow blogger, Meechy Monroe to let her know we love her and are praying for her speedy recovery. If you are not aware of her condition, you can visit her website, You can also donate to her recovery through giveforward.com.
About Kenya
Kenya is a writer and blogger, in her early 30′s, living in-love, in Nashville, TN. Although Kenya is thought to be a “natural-hair enthusiast,” she likes to think of herself as a “self-enthusiast” who loves natural hair and uses it as a platform to discuss all things beautiful and real about accepting yourself as you are. She is the hostess of the ongoing meet-up, Curls & Cocktails, where natural women come to meet one another in a positive light and energy, over cocktails of course! Her goal is to make the curlworld a little smaller, one curlfriend at a time!
