After ten days traveling across Europe, spending countless hours outside in humid climates and washing my hair a couple times, my hair was dry, tacky and lifeless. I knew I would have to do something to recover once I returned to the states.
To install moisture and restore my hair, I used the Ouidad Curl Recovery Melt-Down Extreme Repair Mask as a pre-poo treatment. The formula infuses nutrient-rich ingredients such as Mafura Butter and Kalahari Melon Seed Oil, which are both fatty acids that work to restore balance to the hair shaft and return it to its previous state before the damaging conditions.
What I love most about this mask is that it can be used on dry or wet hair, and it really does what it says! My hair was luscious and soft to the touch after leaving it on for 20 minutes. I could literally feel the difference in my hair while rinsing it out…in cool water, of course!
As far as frequency goes, I would say once a month is enough for general upkeep, or as needed weekly if repairing damage. I definitely plan to incorporate it in my hair regimen, as needed.
In this tutorial, I show you how I returned my hair to its regular soft, fluffy, hydrated, voluminous state. Here’s what I used:
- Ouidad Curl Recovery Melt-Down Extreme Repair Mask
- Agadir Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
- Crème of Nature Perfect 7 Leave-In
- Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner
- Chi Silk Infusion
- Agadir Argan Oil Treatment
- Ouidad Shower Comb
- Ion Anti-Frizz Ionic Blow Dryer
- Kera Care Edge Tamer
Total Time:
For the prep portion, total time was one hour. Then, after sleeping overnight in the braids, style time the next day was about 30 minutes.
Keep and Care:
At night, I will pineapple or re-braid the hair, and fluff the next morning. This will last about four days before needing to pin or bun.
Hi Mo, you are beautiful. What tips you have for shading?
